Oncology Sister – Eden Oncology (George & Mossel Bay)

Eden Oncology is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Oncology Sister to join our dynamic team. This role offers the opportunity to provide holistic, evidence-based care to oncology patients in a professional and supportive environment.

Key Requirements

• Registered Professional Nurse with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
• Oncology Nursing qualification (or relevant oncology experience – essential).
• Proficient in IV therapy, port and line access, and chemotherapy/targeted therapy administration.
• Demonstrated clinical judgement, attention to detail, and the ability to respond effectively in emergencies.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with patients, families, and colleagues Upholds a high ethical work standard.
• Proficient in both Afrikaans and English.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, evidence-based care for oncology patients, including chemotherapy & targeted therapy administration and symptom management.
• Collaborate closely with the multidisciplinary team (oncologists, pharmacists, and patient counsellors) to coordinate patient care.
• Monitor, assess, and support patients throughout treatment, ensuring their psychosocial care needs are met.
• Uphold infection control and safety standards in the handling of infusion therapies.
• Provide patient and family education, fostering understanding, trust, and empowerment.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and support administrative processes (including billing, authorizations, and consumables management).
